Randy Reichert is President and founder of NW3 Mining Consultants Inc. As President, Randy is responsible for assuring that NW3 Mining Consultants delivers the highest quality of service to its clients in areas suchas project due diligence,operation efficiency/cost-cutting, and project troubleshooting.
A graduate of Queen’s University with a Master of Science in Engineering, Randy has been working in the mining industry for over twenty-five years. Randybegan his career at Canada’s Cominco Ltd., one of the world’s leading copper and zinc producers. Beginning as a Mine Planning Engineer for Cominco in 1992, over the next ten years Randy served in a range of capacities that included Senior Mining Engineer for the company’s Sullivan Mine and Mine Superintendent of Cominco’s Polaris Mine.
While working at Cominco, Randy gained first-hand experience in such areas as financial forecasting, detailed scheduling of mining activities, economic analysis of potential mine areas, and how to increase mine life.

In 2002, Randy embarked on a new chapter in his mining career when he accepted a position as General Manager at Bema Gold Corporation in Russia. Randy’s five years at Bema Gold provided him experience in mine development, as well as knowledge in how to achieve stated goals in a short timeframe. While at Bema, Randy enjoyed accomplishments that included successfully bringing the company’s Julietta Mine from development to operation, training and developing an extensive Russian workforce, and attaining a strong safety record during the training and control phases.
Randy was transferred to Bema’s Kupol Mine in 2006 and was responsible for mine development and administration in preparation for operations prior to and after Kinross’ acquisition of Bema in 2007.
Following his work at Bema Gold, Randy accepted an executive position at Oriel Resources in London. At Oriel, Randy was responsible for the company’s operations, which included overseeinga 160,000 tpa ferrochrome smelter in Russia. Randy successfully managed the construction of the smelter, as well as its transition from construction to operation.
From 2008 to his founding of NW3 Mining Consultants Inc. in 2013, Randy had the privilege of serving several mining companies in a number of executive roles from Chief Operating Officer to Co-Chief Executive Officer. These roles had Randy continuing work in mine development,permitting, mine financing and improving operations during times of low commodity prices.
In addition to his Engineering degrees, Randy is registered in Ontario as a professional engineer. Randy also holds a Graduate Business Administration diploma from Simon Fraser University (now Beedie School of Business), which he earned in 2001.
Outside of his mining career, Randy loves to travel and cook, and enjoys craft beer and wine. Randy is also a fan of English Premier League football.
